Course description

This course continues to build on students’ understanding of a solid volunteer program framework and equips learners with the core skills to effectively engage volunteers. Key legal terms and concepts that apply to the principles of screening and volunteers are discussed. Volunteer recruitment, selection, orientation, training, supervision, support and performance management is examined. A portfolio of tools and resources will be created using best practices and professional standards. Students will also have an opportunity to assess their own skills and identify their focus for further development.
