About the program

This program is designed to enhance and develop leadership skills for those in the paramedic industry wishing to pursue leadership positions. The program will build on existing skills and experience and apply those skills to workplace situations. The program will enable the student to apply the newly developed skills in a leadership role in a Paramedic Service Environment.

Program information

All courses must be completed within 5 years of acceptance into the program.

Admission requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older
  • Current Advanced Emergency Medical Care Attendant (A-EMCA) certificate or equivalent

Admission procedures

  • Submit a completed Conestoga College Program Application Form.
  • Attach proof of admission requirements.
  • Final selection is made following an assessment of the admission requirements.

  • Utilize project management processes and tools in order to effectively augment resources
  • Apply performance management techniques and practices to leadership and management situations
  • Apply team based approaches utilizing communication, coaching and leadership skills
  • Develop critical thinking strategies in the Paramedic Service Environment
  • Manage various aspects of Employment Law as it applies to management, employees and leaders
