Course description

This 2 day course demonstrates best practices in intravenous insertion and venipuncture. Guidelines for vein selection, review of devices, infection control, insertion techniques and obtaining blood samples will be practiced in a lab setting. A focus will be placed on skills development, best practices, safety, accountability and documentation. This course may not provide sufficient clinical preparation to meet the requirements of all agencies; specific requirements must be obtained through the agency.
