This course is offered at both the Kitchener-Doon campus and the Milton - Steeles Avenue location.
This course demonstrates best practices in intravenous insertion and venipuncture. Guidelines for vein selection, review of devices, infection control, insertion techniques and obtaining blood samples will be practiced in a lab setting. A focus will be placed on skills development, best practices, safety, accountability and documentation. This course may not provide sufficient clinical preparation to meet the requirements of all agencies; specific requirements must be obtained through the agency.
