This foundational course will focus on competencies for Registered Nurses working in primary care including communication, collaboration and partnership, leadership, quality assurance, evaluation and research and professionalism in primary care nursing. Topics include the primary care nurse's role in health promotion, cultural safety, patient advocacy, triage and care prioritization, and interprofessional collaboration and communication. This course also examines change management and strategies to expand and optimize the RN role in primary care.
