Following a brief overview of translating tools and resources, and of English and French reading material, the course concentrates on the development of basic knowledge and skills essential to the task of translating, including French grammar, spelling, writing, translation techniques, research, vocabulary building, and comprehension, as well as general knowledge. Translating and French exercises are incorporated throughout the course with a view to solidify learning and improve translating skills.
