Course description

This course is the second of two Gas Technician 3 courses that must be successfully completed to be eligible to write the TSSA G3 examination. If you want to work on residential, commercial or industrial gas-fired equipment, this course complies with training curriculum from the Gas Technician III certification and is delivered in compliance with TSSA regulations for G3 certification. Students will learn the skills and knowledge required to purge and install piping or tubing systems, as well as remove old appliances and install new appliances. Additionally, students study and use technical manuals and schematics, and discuss and apply effective customer skills. This course will also cover the current C.S.A B149-1 and B149-2 codes, acts and regulations and students will learn how to access information from the clauses and tables. Individuals with a G3 certification work under supervision on appliances up to and including 400,000 BTUs. NOTE: Students who have completed Part 1 & 2 of the G3 training, and maintained a 75 % average, along with completing all practical labs, will be eligible to write the TSSA certification exam.
