Course description

A critical component of supporting mental health of employees in the workplace is communication. The purpose of this course is to enhance the skills of HR professionals, managers and supervisors to promote helping relationships and therapeutic communication. This course will enhance the human helping process within the workplace in non-technical language and provide guidance through complex concepts on helping. Helping skills for positive action will be learned in order to facilitate effective behaviour change. There will be a focus on problem solving that incorporates attitudes and skills that will support your employees and further promote human performance during times when understanding is required (i.e. loss and crisis). Ethical issues with helping relationships will be included in the course content.
