About the program

This online program will help students enhance their French language communications skills (reading, writing and speaking) so they can communicate effectively and with confidence. Whether the student requires knowledge of French for a career or vacation enjoyment in French-speaking countries, this program will be effective. The main areas of focus in this program, include verbal and written communication for personal and professional purposes. Different topics will be used to support the use of correct grammar skills and provide an appreciation of French culture.

Program information

All courses must be completed within 3 years of acceptance into the program.

Admission requirements

  • 19 years of age or older OR Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent

Note re: admission requirements

  • Students must be able to receive instruction, respond, and research in the English language.

Program outcomes

  • Communicate effectively and correctly in the French language, in both verbal and written forms, for personal and professional purposes;
  • Converse effectively in French regarding complex topics such as literature, politics, society and culture;
  • Integrate an appreciation for French culture into communications in the French language;
  • Apply proper grammar and spelling rules and a wide range of vocabulary accurately and effectively in writing and verbal conversation;
  • Research current affairs of French speaking Canada and express opinions using complex grammatical structures, verbally and in writing.
