About the program

The Adult Education Certificate of Achievement is for those with expertise in any discipline and/or profession that need the practical application of educational methodologies, tools and techniques to transfer knowledge and skill. The courses are relevant to anyone who is or aspires to design and deliver post-secondary courses and/or training initiatives. The first course will explore learner's styles, needs and characteristics which enables students in subsequent courses to examine the effectiveness of course design, instructional delivery and assessment. The Adult Education, Certificate of Achievement is offered fully online. Graduates of this program may also wish to further their education and obtain their Teacher/Trainer of Adults Ontario College Certificate through Conestoga College in a classroom setting.

Program information

All courses must be completed within 3 years of acceptance into the program.

Admission requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older

Admission procedures

  • Submit a completed Conestoga College Program Application Form.
  • Attach proof of Admission Requirements.
  • Final selection is made following an assessment of the admission requirements.

Graduate opportunities

Graduates of this program may also wish to further their education and obtain their Teacher/Trainer of Adults Ontario College Certificate through Conestoga College in a classroom setting.

  • Facilitate learning that addresses the diverse needs of adult learners by utilizing a variety of appropriate instructional techniques

  • Integrate reflective practice into all teaching activities
  • Apply principles and best practices of a variety of theoretical models in adult learning environments
