This course covers backflow prevention and cross connection control devices. Topics include: health and legal aspects of cross connection control causes of backflow, types of cross connection control devices, application of devices, distribution system hazards, inspection programs, definitions, installation requirements, general maintenance and testing procedures, symbols, recommended ordinances for cross connection control regulations, and current provincial regulations. Participants who successfully pass the voluntary certification exam at the end of the course will be certified as a Cross Connection Control Inspection Specialist.
