In this course, students will be introduced to the healthcare system and the role of the nurse in Ontario. Using case-based learning and virtual simulation, students will explore The College of Nurses of Ontario's entry-to-practice competencies and professional nursing practice standards. This course will be of interest to internationally educated nurses living in and outside of Ontario who are interested in practicing in Ontario.The new Transition to Nursing Practice course is approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario (www.cno.org). Applicants who successfully complete the approved Transition to Practice Course will meet CNO’s ninth requirement to support their application for registration. Information regarding registration requirements for nurses looking to practice in Ontario can be found on the College of Nurses of Ontario website (www.cno.org).
