Course description

The topics in this course include: static equilibrium analysis; elastic stress-strain relations; stress-strain and deformation analyses of axially loaded components and circular shafts/tubes under torsion; shear force and bending moment diagrams of beams; beams in elastic bending; buckling of columns; thin-walled pressure vessels; stress and strain transformations, principal stresses and principal strains; failure criteria.
