The moment is life changing--your heart-rate increases, you feel a sudden rush of energy surge through your body. You’re crushing hard, and it feels amazing, terrifying, exhilarating! What exactly is happening in this moment? And for that matter how and why do we even “feel” love, joy, arousal, pain, and heartbreak? What makes a scent or a taste so powerful in shaping our emotions? In "The Chemistry of Love", we’ll dive into the fascinating world of chemistry that fuels human emotions, attraction, and mood. From the role of hormones like dopamine and serotonin to the influence of pheromones and neurotransmitters, this course will unravel the science behind why we feel the way we do. Along the way, you’ll engage in hands-on experiments, explore the chemistry of happiness, and discover how love truly is a chemical reaction.Expect to learn the science behind romantic attraction, moods, and even what happens chemically during a break-up (and how to get over one faster!). You’ll also test your senses through activities exploring scent, taste, and their role in emotions.
