Course description

This course is designed to develop students with the essential skills and strategies needed to effectively lead, manage and champion the field of health and take action to change systems, sustain changes, promote populations health and health equity. Students will cover fundamental principles of management, analyze leadership styles and strategies, recognize team building, strategic planning, financial management, decision making and consider the development of leadership through mentoring, coaching, recognition and support. Students will apply these leadership and management concepts to real-world public health challenges through case studies, simulations, and hands-on projects with the understanding of accountability and professionalism.
