Course description

Every window is different and may require individual treatment. We compare natural and synthetic fabrics according to the pros and cons of their use, the methods of their manufacture, their durability and the terms used in their description. Students will discover current fabric trends and how certain treatments will match or clash with particular furniture and decorating styles. Other topics covered are using blinds, shutters, valances and draperies; understanding proper measuring techniques; and calculating the amount of fabric needed to complete a particular window treatment.
