Students must be certified at the Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, HCP or BLS Level. Proof of Certification must be verified at the beginning of the class. This course stresses the basic steps to follow in an emergency. Emphasis will be placed on re-testing, not re-learning material. Students will prepare themselves for skill and knowledge assessment. There will be an instructor demonstration of skills and a written/oral assessment as well as an assessment of practical skills through skill stations and/or mock scenarios. New first aid information and skills will be taught to update the student.
Not all courses are offered each term.Spring 2024 registration opens March 11, 2024. Fall 2024 registration opens July 22, 2024.
In person: classes held in person on a campus/site in a classroom/lab/shop/studio for the course duration
Online - Asynchronous: 100% online delivery, no scheduled day or time course requirements with the instructor, assigned due dates
Online - Synchronous: 100% online delivery, scheduled day and time course requirements with the instructor, assigned due dates
Hybrid: any combination of in person, timetabled, on campus, online, and hyflex delivery
