Train online for the Provincial Food Safety Certification and then write your exam at the end of the course to become a certified Food Handler. A minimum of 70% is required to earn your certificate. In this course you will build your knowledge and improve your safe food handling skills to earn your Food Handlers Wallet Card valid for 5 years through the Region of Waterloo Public Health or Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. We recommend food safety training for all persons who work in institutional, retail, restaurant or wholesale food services. (includes online instruction, materials and exam).Please note that at this time we are offering remote synchronous deliveries over two separate days and students must be in attendance online for both dates in order to write their exam. Students must have a laptop or desktop computer with webcam capabilities as mobile devices, Chromebooks and tablets are not compatible. Students must also have valid Government issued photo ID to include passport, drivers license or Ontario ID Card, health cards are not permitted. Students who have successfully completed FOOD1190 are not required to complete this course as part of the Essential Hospitality Training micro-credential.
Classroom Delivery: In-person instruction that takes place at a college campus.
Online Delivery: Content is delivered entirely online through self-directed components, allowing you the flexibility to learn anytime from wherever you are.
Remote Delivery: Technology-enabled virtual instruction that takes place outside of a physical classroom. Remote delivery includes some form of scheduled real-time virtual classes or drop-in times, as well as self-directed components.
Hybrid Delivery: Instruction that includes a combination of online or remote delivery, and some classroom activities.
