Course description

Basic Design B will cover the organization and management of visual information. This course will introduce the student to the 19 principles of design broken down into three categories such as Unity & Harmony, Balance and Contrast & Emphasis. All 19 principles will be explored in relationship to each other and the Elements of Design using a variety of tools and visual exercises. Elements of design will be related to the principles in order to enable the student to employ visual awareness and dynamics in the field of two dimensional design. Critical evaluation skills will play a key part of individual class discussion and group critiques.
