Course description

In this foundational course students will build a medical terminology vocabulary by analyzing medical terms into their component parts. Exploration of medical terms in the context of anatomy and physiology using a body system approach will examine where in the body the medical term references, how it works within the body, and what happens when illness or injury occurs. Topics will include correct pronunciation, correct spelling, correct comprehension and use of common medical terms expected in a variety of health care settings.
