This program is designed for students who want to develop practical skills related to finance and human resources management in health care organizations. Students will learn key skills in budgeting, reading financial statements, and applying financial information to the decision-making process. Human resources management skills development will focus on key processes in people management such as planning, recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring, as well as performance management, and retention in diverse health care settings. Courses include case studies and practical application of concepts to support the development of skills to lead high-performing, cost-effective health services. Upon completion of the 2 courses, students will receive a Recognition of Professional Development from Conestoga College. These courses also form part of the Healthcare Administration Management Post Graduate Certificate Program.
Awarded by the Registrar's Office to those who have successfully completed a defined list of related courses or workshops that focus on a specific discipline. Typically less than 136 hours and may or may not include formal assessment. The criteria are determined by the college.
