Course description

This course builds on the knowledge gained in The Fundamentals Of Photography, and will help the student to learn and practice advanced photographic techniques. This course includes in-class practice using higher-level photographic methods, as well as photographic theory and current professional practices. One class will be spent off-campus to further the students' practical experience. Topics will include light control with off-camera flash, composition, black & white photography and advanced camera settings such as file formats, shutter and aperture effects and more. Students will fine-tune their skills and will learn to critically assess their own photographs. The student will learn to work independently, and through assignments and demonstrations, will gain the confidence to take their own direction in photography.
