Course description

The areas of Transportation and Warehousing are critical to the success of executing a supply chain strategy. Consumers are demanding and require agile fulfilment facilities to support their buy anywhere, ship anywhere, and return anywhere habits. Efficient and effective transportation systems are indispensable for economic sustainability. Organizations need a transportation and warehousing network that meets stakeholder expectations for cost, quality, time and location.In this course the student will explore the efficient handling and movement of goods, services, materials and related information within and between supply chains. This will be achieved by examining transportation methods, warehousing concepts, distribution networks and the related total cost of ownership decisions.
