Course description

Admission: Current Certificate of Registration - RN or RPN. When is a blood transfusion indicated? What are the risks associated with transfusion therapy? This course will enable the participants to understand the basic concepts, equipment, complications and nursing care measures associated with patients receiving blood component therapy. This course will be of particular interest to those whose responsibilities include the administration and monitoring of blood transfusions. This course may serve also as a review for Registered Laboratory Technologists. This course is part of both the IV Therapy - Registered Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse program.
