Course description

This one day workshop is intended for RN's and pregraduate BScN's wishing to work in the area of maternal health who want to learn or review the current fundamental concepts related to FHS (fetal health surveillance). It is imperative that all students have read and studied the self learning module "Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance" PRIOR to attending the workshop. This workshop will provide an evidence based approach to the fundamental knowledge in the SOGC guidelines, physiological basis of fetal surveillance, acid-base balance, external fetal monitoring, intermittent fetal monitoring, uterine activity and documentation/communication and legal issues.
