Course description

Fluid power is a combination of hydraulics, pneumatics and electro-pneumatics courses. In this course, students will gain familiarity with the physical principles of hydraulic fluids, compressed air and basic electricity. The student will learn about the ways in which fluids are used in the industry to control or perform certain tasks that would not be possible with other methods. Also included are operation and application of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components, standard symbology, working elements, directional control valves, pressure and flow control valves, basic logic circuits, pressure sequence valve, relays, electrical switches, etc.
