Glass Fusing

Course description

Glass Fusing is the art of using a kiln to join two pieces of glass together. In this introductory class, you will learn how to cut and assemble glass to be fused in the kiln. Kiln preparation, firing schedules, slumping techniques, glass compatibility and inclusions will be covered throughout the course. You will make several projects starting with a small learning piece to an 8" square or round plate of your own design. Other projects may include: a picture frame, candle base, coasters, jewellery, abstract hanging or suncatcher. Glass cutting experience is helpful, but basic glass cutting techniques will be demonstrated for those people new to glass work. Please allow an additional $75-$150 for tools and supplies. Course takes place at Breslau Art Glass. 88 Woolwich Street South Breslau.
