Course description

This course emphasizes the skills necessary for developing an original short dramatic script idea. Providing a structured developmental process, we will begin with researching and evaluating story concepts, writing an outline, treatment and first draft, followed by revision and polishing of a final draft which will be marketed for sale before the end of the term. Script formats and terminology specific to film, television and radio will be covered, with emphasis on film, along with intellectual property protection issues, marketing, and developing the tools necessary to sustain a writing career.
