Topics in this course include: principles of chemical kinetics; reaction mechanisms; stoichiometry; solution equilibria as applied to analysis; acids and bases; analytical electrochemistry; chemical separation and chemical thermodynamics; solubility; corrosion; thermochemistry; polarity; flow and diffusion; molecules and chemical bonding; biomechanics; structure; bonding; and physical properties of aliphatic and aromatic compounds; substitution and elimination reactions of alkyl halides; ethers; epoxides; aldehydes; ketones; metals and solid-state materials; and transition elements.
